From Support To Reality
We built a new kitchen for more than 1,700 children, replacing a deteriorating structure with a safe, efficient, and hygienic space for daily meals.

More Than Just a Kitchen
More Than Just a Kitchen
For many children at Ng’wandakw Primary School, the lunch they receive at school is the most reliable meal of their day.
But their kitchen, where that vital meal was prepared, was falling apart. The walls were crumbling, cooking over open fires had become unsafe, and every day, hundreds of children were exposed to risk.
The need was clear: reliable meals require reliable facilities.

How We Made It Happen
How We Made It Happen
In February 2025, our journey began with a shared dream to create something lasting for this community. Together with our local Project Manager John Bei, we started from the ground up.
In February 2025, our journey began with a shared dream to create something lasting for this community. Together with our local Project Manager John Bei, we started from the ground up.
Step 1: Build With The Community

We sourced local materials and employed more than 40 workers from the surrounding community, ensuring the project remained locally led from the start.

Step 2: Construct The Kitchen
Step 2: Construct The Kitchen
Working alongside local builders, walls were raised, roofing installed, and a durable structure began to take shape.

Step 3: Create A Safe Kitchen

The finished kitchen was designed to provide a safe, reliable space for meal preparation for years to come.

Leaving Their Mark

When it came time to paint, the students chose purple and proudly added their hand prints to the door.
Those handprints became a lasting reminder that this kitchen was built for them, and belongs to them.

What We Made Possible
What We Made Possible
What began as a vision became a real structure serving over 1,700 children every day.
The new kitchen provides safe meals, hygienic storage, and proper equipment. It also created dozens of local jobs and sparked a renewed sense of unity in the community.

We didn’t stop there. The project continued with renovations of 11 classrooms, including plastering, painting, and new windows and doors.
This project holds a special place in our hearts since it was the first sign that real change was possible, and that together, we could make a tangible difference.
The completed kitchen stands as a testament to what can be achieved when communities, skilled professionals, and supporters work together toward a shared goal.
