Good Shepherd School

Migrant Meal Program

"A Bridge of Compassion that Turns Hope into Action"

Peak Humanity partnered with Good Shepherd Phuket Town Centre to support over 300 migrant children in accessing education and daily nutrition.

We funded the school meal program, ensuring every child, teacher, and volunteer received a healthy lunch every day - creating the foundation for better learning, focus and well-being.

Beyond food security, our collaboration provided:

  • Support to classroom activities

  • Capacity-building for teachers

  • A renewed sense of unity within the centre’s team

The Challenge

Before partnering with Peak Humanity, the Good Shepherd Phuket Town Centre faced an ongoing crisis.

Every day, more than 300 migrant children from Myanmar and neighboring countries arrived seeking education and safety, many without access to public schools.

Overcrowded classrooms, a lack of teaching materials, and limited funding for daily meals made it difficult to provide proper care.

Despite this, Sister Lakana and her team continued their mission, ensuring children safety, dignity, and learning opportunities.

Our Impact

The transformation has been powerful.

Children are now more engaged and confident, teachers feel proud and motivated, and parents have shared heartwarming stories of their children’s enthusiasm for learning.

“Parents tell us their children now come home excited to tell stories and sing songs from class,” shares Sr. Lakana.

One story stands out:

“A little boy from a construction-camp family used to be shy and silent. Through the learning activities supported by Peak Humanity, he slowly gained confidence. One day he read his first Thai word out loud - and now he enjoys reading to his younger sister every evening.”

These moments - small yet profound - reflect the heart of our shared mission: to nurture dignity, hope and belonging.
